     In 1965, at the age of 25 Rolando {Rolo} Gnucci got a job in Ashtabula driving a truck & operating the fork lift for a small health food & medicinal herb distributor.  Young Rolando became fascinated by the technology of nutrition & medicinal herbs.

     As bountiful fate would have it Rolando had just taken a course in study technology which was based on the principle that you never go past a misunderstood word.  So Rolando purchased the authoritative reference works that would define words in the field.  That is 'Guyton's Textbook of Physiology', 'Gray's Anatomy,' 'Harper's Biochemistry', 'Dorland's Medical Dictionary' & he proceeded to study herb & vitamin company brochures, & health food industry trade magazines, at that time probably the best source of the latest information on herbs, supplements & nutrition.  For at that time these subjects were mostly ignored by orthodox medicine.  And our young Rolo; with authoritative reference works at the ready; did not go past misunderstood words.

     Rolo became so fascinated by the technology of nutrition & medicinal herbs that he abandoned his promising career as a fork lift operator & became a salesman for a wholesale distributor in the supplement, herb, & health food industry.    By 1982 Rolo had established his own independent manufacturers rep. organization in Sandusky, specializing in representing herb & supplement manufacturers all the way from Ashtabula to Peoria and beyond.

     What Rolo liked to do was find herb & supplement companies to represent that were run by credentialed &/or authoritative sources of information in the category of products they produced & thus learn from them.

     So, for instance:

• In field of Naturopathic Medicine-(Naturopathic medicine is the officially licensed herbal medicine in the U.S. where the doctors have to undergo pretty much the same 8 years of training as orthodox physicians except the remedies used are herbs and other natural means as opposed to surgery or prescription drugs), Rolo represents (for 20 years), the Eclectic Institute, an herb company run by Dr. Ed Alstat N.D., R.Ph. formally the Professor of Pharmacy at the National Collage of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

• In the field of Amino Acids Rolo represents (for 25 years & currently),  first Tyson & Associates & now Montiff Inc., supplement companies specializing in amino acid products run by Don Tyson one of the world's experts in the clinical use of amino acids.

• In the field of Chinese Botanical Medicine Rolo represented Min Tong Herbs.  In the U.S. Min Tong is run by Dr. Chris Yang L.Ac., O.M.D.  In Taiwan, the parent company is run by the professor of Pharmacology at the University of Taichung, in Taiwan.

• In the field of Herbal Suppositories Rolo represented Earth’s Botanical Harvest-Suppositories & salves formulated by Dr. Elizabeth Burch N.D. Formerly Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine.

• In Ayurvedic Medicine, (Ayurvedic medicine is the herbal medicine of India), Rolo represented Ayush Herbs.  Ayush is run by Dr. Virender Sodhi, who is the current Professor of Ayurvedic medicine at John Bastyr Naturopathic College in Seattle, Washington.

• In Medicinal Mushrooms Rolo represented Mushroom Products International run by Jeff Chilton, a mycologist, (a mycologist is an expert in the study of mushrooms).
