• One of the 8 essential amino acids that is the precursor to Serotonin, Tryptomine and Melatonin.

• Low levels are associated with Depression, Insomnia, and Anxiety.

• Pyridoxal 5' Phosphate (the active form of B-6) is necessary for proper metabolism.

• Because Pyridoxal 5' Phosphate (the active form of B-6) is necessary for proper metabolism taking a serving of Tryptophan 15-20 minutes before retiring if you did not take a B-Complex or B-6 at dinner, can sometimes result in a headache.  If this occurs 20mgs of B-6 will take it away.
